From Press Release:
The Rome Braves defeated the Savannah Sand Gnats Sunday afternoon 3-2 before a crowd of 3,559 for their first home win of the season. Rome’s record now stands at 6-5.
The first run of the game didn’t come until the top of the sixth inning when Savannah scored once on a sacrifice fly by Juan Lagares to score Rylan Sandoval.
Rome came back in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead with a two RBI single by Jordan Kreke, scoring Osman Marval and Kyle Rose for the 2-1 score.
The Braves added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 3-1.
Savannah chipped away at the lead in the eighth with a single by Jeff Flagg to score Pedro Zapata, but the Braves were able to hold on for the 3-2 win.
Paul Clemens (2-0) earns his second win of the season for Rome while Armando Rodriguez (0-2) picks up the loss for Savannah. Tyrelle Harris gets his third save for the Braves.
Is Rodriguez going to continue being the starter, or do you think that perhaps Brandon Moore will replace him?
