6/7/11
Team By Team Grading: CWS, Cincy, Cleve, Colo, Fla, Hou, KC, LAA
Chicago White Sox – OF Keenan Walker (47th)- Chicago didn’t have a first round pick and went for a relatively long shot outfielder in the sup round. I ranked 65 outfielders and he wasn’t on my list. Juco dude. C
Cincinnati – RHP Robert Stephenson (27th) – I thought this was a little high for the 27th overall pick, though I also believe he’s a legit first day pick - B-
Cleveland - SS Francisco Linder (8th) - Linder was the premier shortstop in the draft and Cleveland scooped him up with their only first day pick - A
Colorado - LHP Tyler Anderson (20th), SS Trevor Story (45th) – big lefty with limited velo and a shortstop I had going in the 5-6th round range - C+
Florida: - RHP Jose Fernandez (14th) – not a bad pick, but an obvious local favorite for the Cuban crowd – B
Houston: - OF George Springer (11th) – an excellent pick at #11 – A
Kansas City – OF Bubba Starling (5th) – you can’t possibly criticize a pick like this. He’s an in-state hero – A+
LA Angels – C/1B C.J. Cron (17th) – Cron was projected as a late first rounder. Big bat. - B
