Team By Team Grading: - LAD, Milw, Minn, NYM, NYY, Oak, Philly
LA Dodgers – LHP Chris Reed (16th) – the Dodgers only had one pick and, IMO, this is a real stretch at the 16th overall pick – D
Milwaukee – RHP Taylor Jungmann (12th), LHP Jed Bradley (15th) – My God, they can go home this morning – A+
Minnesota – SS Levi Michael (30th), 3B/OF Travis Harrison (50th), RHP Hudson Boyd (55th) – all three are projectable first day pciks drafted about where everyone had them – B+
NY Mets – OF Brandon Nimmo (13th), RHP Michael Fulmer (44th) – I had Nimmon as a sup one pick so I was surprised here. Regarding Fulmer, I had 144 RHPs ranked and Fulmer was not on the list – D
NY Yankees – 3B Dante Bichette Jr. (51st) – No first round pick, bichette was a projectable late sup pick – C
Oakland – RHP Sonny Gray (18th) - a great pick at 18th, many of us had Gray in the first 5 players to be picked yesterday – A
Philadelphia – OF Larry Greene (39th) – Philly gets extra kudos for picking the only kid that showed up at the draft live – C+
Really? A D for the Mets? Seriously, I think at least a B- here. Or do you think the Mets should've gone "safe" and taken an underachiever like Bradley at 13? Give the Mets some credit for thinking outside the box here and not letting finances rule the pick. Additionally, how can you fail them when they haven't even signed yet? Get back with me in 3 years and let's see how they've done before you give them a failing grade.

ReplyDeleteF is a failing grade.
D is what I averaged in high school
93 to 96 velo with what some say is a plus curve, one of the best curves in the dtaft. I think taking those 2 players are a little better then a D grade. C+ IMO, this FO led by Alderson has too good a track record to think they blew it.
