Tuesday night in Los Angeles, Nick Punto and AJ Ellis knocked in 2 runs apiece; the Dodgers beat the Mets 4-2. Matt Harvey started for the Mets and was staked to an early 1-0 lead, when the second batter of the game, Juan Lagares, connected for a solo home run (#4) off Hyun-Jin Ryu …the 2nd Mets run came in the top of the 9th on an rbi single by John Buck off Kenley Jansen, but Jansen shatterd pinch hitter Ike Davis’ bat on a grounder to second for the games last out as the Met rally fell short. Harvey wasn’t on his game, going 6 innings allowing 8 hits 4 runs all earned he walked 2 and struck out 3. He takes the loss falling to 9-4. Ryu hung zeros up after the 1st inning. He went 7 innings, allowing all 5 hits the 1 run he walked on and struck out 5. He gets the win and improves to 12-3. The Mets lose their second straight and their 4th out of 5 versus the Dodgers this year. They stand at 54-63 on the year and 29-31 on the road. Wednesday night, the Mets try to salvage the final game of the series. Dillon Gee (8-8 3.82) goes for the Mets.
