Thursday Morning, about 2:30 am est to be exact, Adrian Gonzalez lined a game winning double past Justin Turner down the left field line scoring Yasiel Puig from 2nd, the Dodgers come from behind and beat the Mets in 12 innings 5-4. The game started out all Mets…. The Mets took a 1-0 lead in the second on an rbi double by Andrew Brown. In the third Byrd hit his 18th homer on the year with Daniel Murphy and Josh Satin on base and it was 4-0 Mets. In the 4th the Dodgers got 4 hits off Gee, but crafty pitching and a key pick-off of Carl Crawford at first kept the Dodgers off the board. In the 6th, the Dodgers finally broke through against Gee with a rbi Fielder’s choice by Mark Ellis and a rbi single by Jerry Hairston Jr.. Gee went 6, he allowed 7 hits the 2 runs (both earned) he walked 1 and struck out 4. At the plate, Gee also hit his first career triple in the 4th . That’s the way the game stayed till the bottom of the 9th inning. LaTroy Hawkins blew his 3rd save on the year as Mark Ellis singled, then with 1 out Andre Either hit an opposite field pinch hit 2 run homer to tie the game at 4. It stayed that way till the bottom of the 12th. With Pedro Feliciano on the mound Yasiel Puig hit a seeing eye single up the middle the Omar Quintanilla dove for and slowed down just enough for Puig to hustle to second. Then on the first pitch, Gonzalez notched the game winner and the Dodger Buzzsaw cuts through the Mets . The win completes the sweep for the Dodgers, it’s also their 8th straight win and their 12th series win in a row. Offensively for the Mets Byrd with the big gun on the night going 3 for 6 with the homer, double, single and 3 rbi. Andrew Brown also added 3 hits and an rbi, Daniel Murphy added 2 hits. Feliciano takes the loss he’s now 0-1. Paco Rodriguez gets the win he’s now 4-2. The Mets record is now 54-64. The are 29-32 on the road. Thursday the Mets land in San Diego to start a four game weekend series with the Padres. Zach Wheeler (5-2 3.63) goes for the Mets.
