August 7th - Mets 2, Rockies 1

Thursday afternoon Dillon Gee continued his string of terrific outings as scattered 8 hits while allowing 1 run in 7 2/3  innings. The Mets complete a three game sweep of the Rockies with a 2-1 win at Citi field. Colorado took the lead in the top of the 4^th on a solo home run by Corey Dickerson (#5) to briefly give the Rockies the lead. In the bottom of the 4^th the Mets got an rbi grounder by Wilmer Flores and a sac fly by Anthony Recker to take the lead for good. The Mets only had 6 hits in the game and no extra base hits yet managed to give Gee enough support to get the win. Gee went  7 2/3 he allowed 8 hits, the one run he walked  none and struck out 3 getting the win and improving to 8-8. LaTroy Hawkins came on in the 9^th and pitched a 1-2-3 inning for his 2^nd save. The Mets sweep the Rockies and it’s their first 3 game sweep at Citi Field in 2013! Jeff Manship suffers the loss for the Rockies he’s now 3-3. The win improves the Mets record on the season to 52-60. They also improve their home record to 25-32. Friday the Mets are in Arizona to start a 3 game weekend series against the Dbacks.  Jeremy Hefner (4-8   4.23) goes for the Mets, Patrick Corbin (12-3  2.33) goes for  Arizona.  https://www.facebook.com/MetsForum
