Draft 14 – Touki Toussaint, Gregory Deichmann, Keaton McKinney, Turner Larkins, Spencer Adams

draft - Touki Toussaint

8-6-13 - Top pitchers - East Coast Professional Showcase, Syracuse, NY -  3. Touki Toussaint, RHP, Coral Springs Christian Academy (Fla.): One of the more projectable pitchers at East Coast, Toussaint was up to 94 mph and showed a curve and a slider. He wasn't always consistent, though he did get better as his outing went on, and scouts love his arm and upside. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130806&content_id=56048786&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb

7-24-13  -  Gregory Deichmann, ss, Brothers Martin, Metairie, La./Marucci Elite - Deichmann has a lean and athletic 6-foot-2, 180-pound build. The lefthanded hitting LSU commit has impressive bat speed and is one of the top power bats in the class. He has raw power to all fields and can put on a show in batting practice, especially to his pull side. With two home runs during TOS, Deichmann matched the total all of 144 players from last year’s event. Deichmann is a fluid, rangy athlete with good lateral actions and defensive prowess. He has turned in a tick above-average 60-yard-dash times this summer and has shown arm strength. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/tyler-koleks-heavy-fastball-among-tournament-of-stars-standouts/

8-7-13  -  Kendall Rogers ‏@KendallRogersPG  - #Arkansas commit @TGold_PG: 2014 RHP Keaton McKinney (Ankeny, IA) showing the best changeup of #ACGames. Makes good hitters look bad

8-4-13 - Turner Larkins   Primary Position:  RHP  Secondary Position(s):  3B/1B   Height/Weight:  6’3/215  Bats/Throws:  R/R  Home Town:  Arlington, TX   School:  Martin  Travel Team(s):  Dallas Tigers   Class of:  2014  Committed To:  Texas A&M  Scouting Notes: - 2013 Tournament of Stars Notes from Don Olsen - Turner has an ideal workhorse frame, thick development, little sloped, little rigid at times in a Shane Reynolds type build.  Shows the efficient velocity type delivery from a ¾ slot, tall and relaxed, solid arm action and gets weight over well.  Delivery and release may maintain high, could be a fly ball style pitcher. Fastball was 90-92 (93) mph works the ball well and shows some hand side run at times, offering hides okay and tough to pick up at times. Curve, 73-76 mph, has solid path and shows the depth.  It can sweep at times in a slurve fashion from the slot.  Turner shows ability to work the fastball around, good command of the two offerings.  He had a show me change, and something to monitor on growth.  Intriguing arm with a touch more velocity down the road. http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/2013/08/04/2014-mlb-draft-profile-turner-larkins/

7-25-13 – Top 30 High School Prospects For 2014 Draft - 24. Spencer Adams, RHP, White County HS (GA) - 6'5/185, Draft Day Age: 18.15, Georgia commit, Full Report - Quick Take: Adams is one of my favorite projection bets in this year's class, with a near ideal frame, athleticism, delivery and arm action to go with advanced feel for his off-speed stuff. Adams will sit 89-92 mph in short stints with and above average slider and changeup. His velocity will dip some in deeper outings but many first round arms have been much worse at this same juncture without as promising signs for improvement. http://sbb.scout.com/2/1310090.html
