Mets
starting pitchers have only allowed 6 HR through their first 29 starts. they
are the first team since the 1997 “big 3” Braves to do that.

The fact that the Mets currently lead the league in playing shit teams is a reminder that things will balance off.
ReplyDeleteThe Braves are red hot.
Just sayin...
Wow, Atlanta has used TWENTY TWO pitchers and we are not even in May yet.
ReplyDeleteThe Braves are hot, but the Mets getting McNeil and Alvarez back has been a huge shot in the offensive arm. The offense exploded yesterday. It is finally showing up.
Nimmo had a great season yesterday. He blew a chancefor glory, hitting against Amed Rosario in the 9th.
Stanek has strong stuff…now just needs outs.
I am starting to really like Luisangel Acuna.
Going in, the Mets were ranked number one in power ratings
DeleteThen this
Vientos heating up
Acuña heating up
Nimmo waking up
Alvy starting hot
McNeil starting hotter
Opposing pitchers are going to have to pitch around all these guys to get to Soto
If you ever wondered if you could retire a major league hitter , watching Amed Rosario, throwing 45 mile an hour slop pitches, giving up four runs in the ninth, but recording three outs shows that anyone could do it. If there’s another blowout tomorrow, can I pitch?
ReplyDeleteNo
DeleteYour turn in center
The fans had the rare opportunity to watch Mendoza tell Heffner to call down to the pen
ReplyDeleteHappened while Canning was putting down the Nats 1-2-3 with plenty of pitch count left
Another early pull by Mendy
Did anyone catch the look on Trevor Williams face after reliever gave up homerun yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHe looked like he wanted to tear someone's head off.
good catch... yes, I did
DeleteIf Trevor gave that look on the Nimmo HR, I will say both Nimmo's HRs weren't terrible pitches. Not on the black, but both were fastballs high and in on the plate. Kudos to him for crushing both.
ReplyDeleteKranick was a brilliant pick up. At the time, I just thought he was another turnstiles-turning low 90s guy that baseball sees come and go. Turns out he throws much harder and is pretty excellent.
Benge has a "modest" 4 game streak? Getting on base 11 times in 3 games is far from modest. IT IS SUPERB. Like this guy.
ReplyDeleteRight now, Kranick is the best signing of the year...so far. Good to see Benge and Jett heating up. Starting to look like Gilbert just might not be good enough. I was really hoping he would become part of the CF mix later this season.
ReplyDeleteThoughts on McNeil playing CF? At least it gets his bat in the lineup. Waiting to see how he handles shots in the gaps.
Jeff does not have the range that Nimmo has but has a stronger arm.
DeleteI also feel he has a better feel for the all around game being a play grunt
test will be balls hit to right center with Soto with limited range there
