It seems no team wants to give up what it would take to land either Syndergaard or Wheeler.

What about SD Padres: Pitchers Cal Quantril, Adrian Morejon, and Andres Munoz. The f...Kudos to the Met Machine for Marcus Stroman. The fans will love him. What remains left may simply be acquiring one more killer later inning reliever (team may have to send Jeurys Familia down to regroup, because he is still way too good to float sideways here), and then too maybe a center fielder more. I was thinking Kyle Tucker, but who knows with Houston's opposition to trade him.

The "stuff" most Mets fans (that I have spoken to) do not get, is why the big push to move SP Noah Syndergaard in the first place? It does almost look personal to some of us, because replacing Thor will be much more difficult than many people may think. Plus, we all love the construct of deGrom, Syndergaard, Wheeler, Stroman, and The Might Matz being our "to die for rotation" as Captain Midnight might say. The second thing is this, if the Mets feel that they do have to trade one of the current Mets top starters, why not then inquire about Houston CF George Springer.

In other words, there is the San Diego trade possibility, and the Houston possibility that appear to be the Mets top two choices right now for trade partnering. Both Boston and the NYY don't seem deep enough to make the type of trade the Mets would prefer doing.

Clint Frazier is not a guarantee, nor a definite solid player for return. Although young, Clinte appears to lack true homerun potential right now, and really he hasn't that much MiLB experience under his belt, and is a sub-par outfielder. Clint's best shot at the bigs right now may be as a DH. Yet, the NY press and the NYY play him up to be this great player who cannot miss.

Somewhat typically here, the NY Post is blaming the crosstown Mets for not wanting to trade with the Yankees. While the Mets realize that by handing the Yankees one of their top three starters it could concrete the Yankees chances at a WS ring in 2019. A thing that obviously does not sit well at Citi Field.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-88441129859654979852019-07-30T10:27:57.082-04:002019-07-30T10:27:57.082-04:00Polysemy? He's 22 but already flashing the five tool jewels. Kyle has star appeal. One problem. Houston has not been willing to include Kyle in trade talks thus far. They need one more top starter, but are so reluctant to deal Tucker for one. Teams want Kyle still, but insiders say Houston not budging.

I like the idea of going after Kyle Tucker and RSP Forrest Whitley. But man, what will it take is the question.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-20056219745631628142019-07-28T01:01:35.014-04:002019-07-28T01:01:35.014-04:00Sandy's legacy beyond the 5 of 7 losing years ...Sandy's legacy beyond the 5 of 7 losing years is the ranked 26 farm system.Reese Kaplanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12993445356545875409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-56440645790786319472019-07-27T14:46:52.137-04:002019-07-27T14:46:52.137-04:00There is less meaning to the game since runs do no...There is less meaning to the game since runs do not have to be built, created from integral parts, but whacked with one swing. Even the word "run" is evocative, as it has more polysemy than any other word in English. Dare I say when systems become devoid of meaning, they are easier to manipulate for their own purposes by their owners.Met monkeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07313452793859894586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-76214046439200245552019-07-27T13:18:14.320-04:002019-07-27T13:18:14.320-04:00Seems like fundamentals of all types are being put...Seems like fundamentals of all types are being put on the back burner.......sort of like what happened in the NBA the last 30 years. Now it's three point shots and dunks, over and over.

In baseball, seems like the same thing is going on......who plays defense any more? Team speed? Situational hitting and taking the extra base, etc. It's all about home runs and strikeouts.

I blame ESPN and the "highlight" generation! It's better to "posterize" someone when you are down 30 points, or to hit a monster home run in the eighth inning of a blowout......getting noticed is the key, I guess.

It has translated into a less desirable product, if you ask me.Mike Freirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02326676289092572994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-23994693552320962402019-07-27T12:28:26.728-04:002019-07-27T12:28:26.728-04:00Remember...

What the issue is as we ponder the latest Thor/Zach trade rumors is will Jeffy trust Brodie enough to make a mega deal after his disastrous off season or pass it off to the off season and either sign Zach to an extention now or give him a QO and trade Thor then. With other options for starting pitching falling by the wayside as the deadline nears it would seems this would be our best opportunity to get the most for Noah. Every contender wants pitching and in truth with any of them if they get him now they will have him for three post season runs as opposed to two if they wait till the off season. What to do what to do what do u guys think?
