He was forced in, although another 25 minor league ABs would have gotten him ready/.Tom Brennanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01032383157195393857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-27731443235600275352016-07-06T10:28:51.206-04:002016-07-06T10:28:51.206-04:00Collins is rookie-averse. The numbers you project are certainly within the realm of possibility as he delivered 16/59 in limited play last year (483 ABs). This year in 156 ABs he has 5/19. Quadruple that and even with his slow start you're right at your projection.

Reese Kaplanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12993445356545875409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-27489227143637288372016-07-06T09:58:30.775-04:002016-07-06T09:58:30.775-04:00You ever get the feeling that Collins hates Wilmer...You ever get the feeling that Collins hates Wilmer? The guy has hit at every level, after an adjustment period, when moving up. When he's been given a shot to play regularly in the majors, he's hit. His bat suffers when Collins jerks him around. I'm not saying he's the next coming of Edgardo Alfonzo, but I think you can realistically get 15-20 HRs and 80 RBI out of Wilmer with a .270 average if he had a chance to start everyday. He plays a decent 2B. Is Herrera really the 2B of the future, or should we be looking more closely at Wilmer? I'm not sold on Dilson yet and Walker won't likely be here next year. alizarinenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-592615130369356022.post-8655578333024311222016-07-06T09:42:53.030-04:002016-07-06T09:42:53.030-04:00I like Cecchini as fourth OF in 2016. His bat has been a little low powered, but he has been a hit machine since late April. 71 for his last 187.

Need to get him out there first. Let's cut his error rate by 40% for tough Vegas conditions, arbitrarily…he still makes far too many. He could be 4th OF next year, and back up IF.

Travis the Extra Base Hit Machine Taijeron (50 in 81 games) can be 5th OF. Grandy can be traded.

Maybe sign Loney, trade Duda, promote Dom Smith next June. He has a knack for driving in runs, man, with 137 over 759 at bats this year and last, and 10 homers shows there is some emerging pop there.

Gourriel seems nice. Herrera, I'd like to see boost his average.

Not sure why they did not hold off on Jose until either the Mats series or after the All Star break.Tom Brennanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01032383157195393857noreply@blogger.com
