A very interesting pick... Obvious, since he played locally, the Mets had a good read on this guy... 6-7 RHP - 12-2, 1.62 ERA, 15 starts 116.1 IP, 64 H, 20 BB, 111 K, .158 BAA ++ fastball/slider combo Baseball America had him at #140 college senior who didn't pitch his freshman or sophomore year @johnmanuelba - Also a fan of #Mets senior pickup in 5th round, RHP Josh
Prevost. Actually thought he'd go out higher. Up to 94 w/heavy sink #mlbdraft A taller Jake deGrom?
Should be one of the first to sign....probably for significantly under slot since he's a senior. This will give us the ability to go overslot on a guy that keeps falling due to signability
The Mets started the run with Seton Hall’s righthander Josh Prevost, who’s coming off one of the best seasons of any college pitcher in the country. He went 12-2, 1.62 with a sterling 111-20 strikeout-walk ratio. He allowed just 64 hits. - From Baseball America
