Mets Bloggers Should Be Tested
I know the entire sporting world is buzzing about the story that A-Rod tested positive in 2003 while winnng his first MVP in Texas.
We seem to be quite obsessed with going back before anything was deemed illegal in baseball and writing stories about things that were done before things were banned.
This is like saying that the South Carolina DUI limit was 1.0, but it was changed to 0.8 a few years ago, and I now have 7 retroactive DUI charges for what I did back then, that was legal, but now isn't.
Anybody remember greenies?
What about cortizone shots at halftime?
Did you ever look at the most home runs Roger Maris had before and after the year he hit 61?

What if a trainer goes over to someone in rookie ball and says "don't take anything on this list, but Upjohn, which is part of a NYSE traded company, has a new drug on the market which seems to help healing and we're going to put you on that." Then, five years later, this drug goes on the banned list. Was this trainer and kid guilty of something we should be writing about?
104 names, one now ruined for life, about tests in 2003, a year before anything was banned.
Fine... let's not stop here... I want Ed Ryan tested over at Mets Fever... throw in Mike McGann at Flushing University, Joe McDoanld at NYSD and yours truly.
Test everybody.
Test my dog and don't forget my daughter's goldfish.
You're always a year away from the next drug folks. People pay big money to watch kids run faster than they do. They go to Daytona where drivers are amped up on caffeine, and I'm not even mentioning wrestling and full contact boxing.
None of this is ever going to go away, so let's get everybody involved.
Line up Matt Cerrone and Adam Rubin and pass the cups out.
Mack
I just tested positive for biscuits and gravy.
