B-Mets 7, Jacksonville 2




PRESS RELEASE

The Binghamton Mets were victorious in their first Spring Training game of 2009. The 7-2 victory over the Jacksonville Suns, the AA Florida Marlins, was a sign of great things to come.

Mike Antonini, a key member of the 2008 B-Mets pitching staff, started the Mets off right with two strong innings of work. He allowed only one hit while walking none and striking out three. The remainder of the Mets pitching staff threw seven innings. They combined to allow two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out six

Ruben Tejada led the Mets offense going 3 for 3 with a double, two singles and four RBIs.

The B-Mets enjoy a camp day tomorrow but return to the diamond on Friday for a 1pm start against the St. Louis Cardinals affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals

Tickets are still on sale for the B-Mets welcome home dinner on April 6th at the Binghamton Regency. The reception starts at 5:30 complete with an autograph session and a cash bar. Dinner will be served at 7:00pm which will include an introduction to your 2009 Binghamton Mets players and coaches. Tickets are $20 for Adults and $15 for fans 15 and under.
