Well, all four full season minor league rosters are in and here’s who I still show are somewhere in the Mets organization:
Extended Camp :
Junior Guerra - 50 game suspension - Kyle Suire - 50 game suspension - Sal Aguilar - IR - Scott Moviel - IR - Billy Wagner – IR - Tim Redding – IR - Angel Pagan – IR - Michael Olmstead - IR – TJS - Michael Houck - IR – TJS - Jake Ruckle - 15-IR - Tobi Stoner - 15-IR - Elvys Quezada - 15-IR - German Marte - 15-IR - Freddy Garcia - Luis Rivera 7-IR - Jose Bierd - 7-IR
Also, the following players played “stateside” for the Mets last year and are not on any of the four rosters:
Cole Abbott, Michael Herbert, Chris Hilliard, Edgar Ramirez, Eduardo Aldama, Steve Cheney, Manuel Oliveros, Guillaume Leduc, Mark Cahoon, Oscar Meledez, Samuel Martinez, Phillips Orta, Raul Batis, Jim Fuller, Brandon Moore, Alexander Merricks, Brad Burns, Kyle Allen, Tony Feliz, Luis Rojas, Santiago Valdez,Mike Lynn, Tim Stronach, Alex Merricks, Luis Carlin, Jonathan Castillo, Jacob Goldberg, Timothy Smith, Michael Powers, Julio Bello, Travis Babin, Pedro P. Martinez, William Morgan, Julio De La Cruz, Steve Cheney, Zack Rosenbaum, Samuel Martinez, Stefan Welsh, Jeffrey Flagg, Giovanni Ortiz, Douglas McNulty, Alonzo Harris, Imbewar Alverez, Nick Giarraputo, Matt Smith, Michael Moras, Luis Nieves, Miquel Tejada, Ramon Martinez, Adrian Rodriquez, Tyler Vaughn, Dock Doyle, Tyler Howe, Tony Macanni, Juan Centeno, Orlando Rodriquez, Ralph Henriquez, Cesar Cordido, Rogelio Del Campo, Jordan Abruzzo, Michael Moras, Charlie Hinjose, Juan Torres, Dan Stegall, Ruben Martinez, Gabriel Zavala, Mark McGonigle, John Servido, Javier Rodriquez, Scott Grimes , Cesar Puello, Richard Pena, Justin Garber, Evan LeBlanc , and Pedro Zapata.
I’m sure some of these guys have been cut, but it’s extremely tough to get this information out of the Mets. I was very surprised to see Steve Cheney, Mark Cahoon, and Jordan Abruzzo not assigned somewhere.
Also, I was extremely disappointed to not see Dock Doyle and Javier Rodriquez assigned to Savannah.
Tough night last night for top pitching prospects… it’s no big secret that Jonathan Niese is in line for the SP5 in 2010, and Brad Holt is right on his tail for 2011. It’s also no secret that no starting pitcher loves opening the season, in April, in New York State. Why aren’t all minor league games played in the south? Anyway, we’re going to ignore their first outing, especially their ERA, and move on.
My son enjoyed meeting some of the Savannah team last year. Where is Steven Cheney? Is he still with the team? I know that Nathan Vineyard quit baseball and hope that is not the case for Steven.
ReplyDeletewell the Mets need Elvys Quezada to get his recovering much quicker. His performance in Double-A was remarkable. He needs to stay healthy that is all and sooner than you know it he should be up in the Mets.
ReplyDeletewell the Mets need Elvys Quezada to get his recovering going much quicker. His performance in Double-A was remarkable. It would be a sight to watch him play in Citi Field. He needs to stay healthy that is all.
ReplyDeleteCheney is still on the DL recovering from Tommy John surgery
ReplyDeleteQuezada is no longer in the organization
