Pawtucket 1, Buffalo 0

Still in the infancy of the 2009 season, Bisons starter Nelson Figueroa turned in one of the best International League performances by a starting pitcher, but Buffalo couldn't take it to the win column, falling 1-0 to Pawtucket Saturday afternoon.
Figueroa faced the minimum through his seven innings of work, allowing two hits and two walks. All four base runners were erased on double plays. Figueroa took a no-decision for his efforts.

Jeff Bailey led off the game for Pawtucket taking a first pitch slider to left field for a single. Paul McAnulty then thwarted that threat with an inning ending double play. A Chip Ambres ground ball turned another double play in the second, wiping Zach Daeges's walk off the bases.

It was the same story in the third inning when a fly ball to right off Gil Velazquez's bat was turned into a double play. Bobby Kielty made the catch for Buffalo and then threw back to first to catch Sox' third baseman Angel Chavez off the bag. Carlos Maldonado was the last Red Sox player to reach base, walking in the fifth, but he was doubled off when Daeges grounded to second base
