Connecticut. After four innings, the game was square at two,
but Binghamton broke on top with a two-run homer from
Ruben Tejada off Defenders’ starter Henry Sosa in the fifth.
Sosa gave up a season-high four runs, but still managed to
pick up his fourth win with six inning giving up five hits. The

and second straight against the Rock Cats. In his last go
around, Coultas allowed a season-high four runs in six innings
at NYSEG Stadium May 23 against New Britain to take his
second loss. He walked three and gave up six hits in the outing.
For the year he is 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 45 innings. He is
a converted infielder who began his pitching career as a reliever
last season for St. Lucie (High-A) appearing in 47 games
with a 4.17 ERA in 69 innings. He was the Mets’ sixth-round
choice in 2004 out of UC-Davis, where he starred as a shortstop.

the B-Mets tonight. Manship worked a season-high eight innings
at Binghamton in his last start, allowing just one run on
four hits without walking a man. He is 4-3 with a 5.55 ERA in
48.2 innings in 2009. The Twins took Manship in the 14th
round of the 2006 draft out of Notre Dame where he was the
Big East Pitcher of the Year for the Fighting Irish, leading the
team with 9 wins and 111 strikeouts. He is considered the
11th best prospect in Minnesota’s system according to Baseball
America. Manship is rated as the fourth-best right-handed
starter on the farm.
