The Bubble List - Prospects Emerging

This one's fun.

Nothing but good news at low levels.

Lots of talent down here, but here are the ones that are really impressing everyone this year:

1B - Ike Davis -

Davis is turning around last year's skeptics (including me) by posting a very decent year at A+ - .282/.377/.321/.698. A lack of pop still is dissapointing, but for Davis, this is a good start.

SP Jenry Mejia -

might be 2nd to Holt in projectablity right now... dominating in Florida ( 3-1, 1.82, 1.06 in 7 starts) at only 19 years old.

SP Bradley Holt -

had a horriblle opening day game but has been lights out the rest of the year at A+ - 3-1, 1.82, 1.10 in 7 starts.
RP Brant Rustich -
Converted this year to a reliever, he's doing just fine at the A+ level - 1-1, 2.25, 1.18, in 8 appearances
2B Josh Satin -
leading the team in hitting (.338/.432/.437/.869) at the A level... not bad for a guy that can't field.
SP - Jeffrey Kaplan -
another converted reliever, posting great A numbers (4-1, 1.23, 1.16, in 8 games, 7 starts).
SP Jeurys Familia -
another teenager doing fantastic, this time at the A level: 3-2, 1.52, 1.02, in 8 games, 7 starts

  1. Mack - You've forgot to include St Lucie outfielder Carlos Guzman who's been even more impressive than Ike Davis and every other high profile player prospect on the team. Carlos is leading the team is batting average, hits, doubles, extra base hits, total bases, slugging and OPS. Not to mention he leads the FSL in total bases, doubles, extra base hits and is in the top ten in home runs (4th), hits (4th), slugging (5th), OPS (9th). Whew!! Need I say more? Carlos deserves the bump up to the B'Mets where he could provide them some much needed pop in their outfield. He also has very good outfield range (loves to dive) and a true outfield power arm (loves to show it off).

  2. Steve:

    You are right about Carlos.

I've written about him before, and frankly, the only reasons I left him off this posting was his recent slump and the fact that I know him and have touted him in the past.

BTW - if you're down in Lucy-land, tell the Brooklyn Kid I sais hey.
