"Hot Rods" hot bats beat Gnats in 1st game,11-2
The Bowling Green "Hot Rods" returned to Savannah last night making their second visit of the season for a four game series with the Sand Gnats. The 6:30pm start time was delayed by rain for a little over two hours and the first pitch was thrown at 8:40pm.
The "Hot Rods" collected 11 hits for the game, scoring 5 runs in the fourth, 3 runs in the 6th, and 3 runs in the 7th.
The Sand Gnats had 7 hits for the game, five of the hits were doubles. Wilmer Flores, who entered the game batting .278, was 2 for 4 with two doubles, one RBI, and he scored a run. Sean Ratliff singled in the 8th inning scoring Flores from second which was the second run for the Sand Gnats. Ratliff extended his hitting streak to 16 games.
The rain did not keep the fans away from Grayson Stadium. The announced attendance was 2,249.
