B-Mets Game Notes

LAST GAME:

After being held to two runs the night before,
Altoona responded with a 6-1 win over the B-Mets Saturday
night at NYSEG Stadium to even the series at a game apiece.
The Curve used a pair of doubles in the first inning against
starter Mike Antonini to get on the board. Brian Friday doubled
to lead off the inning and Jonel Pacheco drove him in
with a double of his own. Binghamton rallied to tie against
reliever Daniel Moskos, who followed MLB rehabber Donnie
Veal who tossed two scoreless innings to start. With two outs
in the third inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis singled to right. Jose
Coronado
followed with his second single of the game and D.J.
Wabick drove in Nieuwenhuis with the third straight single off
Moskos. However, Altoona quickly regained the lead in the
fourth with a five-run explosion. Steve Lerud smashed his
fourth homer of the year, a two-run shot, to open the runscoring.
Friday laced an RBI double and Gorkys Hernandez
added a two-run single to lengthen the lead to 6-1. Moskos
took it from there, picking up the win with six innings on onerun
relief to push his record to 11-10. Antonini was charged
with his second straight loss after permitting 6 runs to score
on a season-high 11 hits in seven innings.
