Cameron Rupp:
3-19 from: - http://thecollegebaseballblog.com/2010/03/20/big-12-recap-for-03192010/#more-24585 - A three-run walk-off home run by Cameron Rupp in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the No. 2 Texas Longhorns a 6-5 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers to open Big 12 play at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Friday evening… Trailing 5-3, Jordan Weymouth’s pinch-hit two-out double in the bottom of the ninth inning kept the Longhorns alive in the game. Keyes then drew a walk, and was replaced by pinch runner Kyle Lusson. Cameron Rupp followed by taking the first pitch he saw, from Nebraska reliever Kurt Giller, deep down the rightfield line for a three-run walk-off home run to give the Longhorns the dramatic 6-5 win.
Hunter Morris:
3-19 from: - http://baseballdraftreport.com/ - Saturday: JR 1B Hunter Morris (Auburn): 2-4, HR, BB, 3 RBI, 2 R - Hunter Morris has put up good numbers so far, but he’s done it while hacking away at anything and everything remotely in the strike zone. That’s cool when you are hitting over .400 and slugging over .600, but becomes a problem when the inevitable decline in batting average comes.
Johnathan Taylor:
3-19 from: - http://baseballdraftreport.com/ - Saturday: SO OF Johnathan Taylor (Georgia): 1-3, 3 BB, RBI, 3 R - Sunday: SO OF Johnathan Taylor (Georgia): 1-1, 3 BB, RBI, R - Taylor may spell his name weirdly, but he’s a really interesting 2011 prospect all the same. He’s a leadoff hitter all the way (good patience, no power), but has enough in the way of speed (plus) and defense (crazy range in center) that he should have a career as a backup outfielder even if the bat doesn’t allow him to start
Deck McGuire:
3-21 from: - http://www.federalbaseball.com/2010/3/20/1381983/washington-nationals-saturday?ref=yahoo - My favorite "If Not Harper" candidate, Deck McGuire, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' 6'6'', 218lb right-handed starter gave up his 1st HR of the year last night in a game played at College Park, Maryland's Shipley Field. McGuire (L, 3-1) suffered only his 4th L in 3 years as a Yellow Jacket in Georgia Tech's 5-2 loss to the Terps, throwing 97 pitches, 66 for strikes in 8.0 IP over which he surrendered 7 hits, 5 R, 2 ER and 3 walks while collecting 5 K's and having his ERA raised to 1.15 after 5 twenty-ten starts and 39.0 IP, in which McGuire's walked 8 and K'd 39.
Anthony Gallas:
3-21 from: - http://thecollegebaseballblog.com/2010/03/21/foleys-saturday-thoughts/#more-24616 - Anthony Gallas of Kent State went 5-6 at the plate while hitting for the cycle, driving in six runs, and scoring three times as the Golden Flashes defeated Winthrop 16-10. The cycle was the first by a Kent State player since Steve Smetana completed the feat in 1995. Kent State coach Scott Stricklin about Anthony Gallas, "He was really locked in and he hit the ball to all fields, He took the ball and pulled it and he hit it to the opposite field. That is the first time I have seen someone hit for the cycle in a while."
