TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the first game of a four-game series from McCoy Stadium (7:05 p.m.). The Herd began their six-game roadtrip by splitting a pair of games in Rochester against the Red Wings. The Bisons are 4-4 on the road this season as they make their first trip to Rhode Island in 2010.

vs. PAWSOX: The Bisons swept a rain-shortened two-game series from the Red Sox at Coca-Cola Field, April 14-15. Buffalo collected wins of 8-2 and 3-2 (10 innings) to start the season series with Pawtucket. Dating back to last season, the Bisons have now won seven of their last 10 meetings with the PawSox.

ROLLIN’ BACK IN: RHP TOBI STONER is back in the Bisons’ rotation following a one-game stint with the Mets over last weekend. Stoner was promoted to New York after the Mets’ 20-inning affair in St. Louis on April 17. Stoner allowed one run in 2.1 innings on April 18 against the Cards to help rescue the Mets’ bullpen. Stoner took the loss in New York’s 5-3 defeat in St. Louis. With the Bisons, Stoner is 0-1 with a 4.32ERA in two starts this year.

BIG GAME: The Bisons set season highs with their 12 runs and 15 hits in yesterday’s 12-3 victory over Rochester. The Herd pounded out eight extra-base hits with seven different Bisons contributing. As a team, the Bisons were 8-16 with runners in scoring position on Thursday.

BIG SLUGGER: OF CHRIS CARTER enjoyed the Bisons’ brief stay in Rochester. In the two-game series, Carter went 6-9 with three doubles, a home run and two RBI. Carter leads the Bisons with 10 extra-base hits already this season (6 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs). He ranks second in the International League, just two extra-base hits behind Indy’s STEVE PEARCE.

F-MART: OF FERNANDO MARTINEZ enters play tonight with a team-high nine-game hit streak. Since April 12, the 21-year old has averaged .308 (12-39) with four doubles, a home run, six runs scored and five RBI.

WELCOME BACK: In his first game of 2010, INF ANDY GREEN went 3-4 with a double, an RBI, a walk and two runs scored yesterday. Green missed the first 12 games of the year with a right hamstring strain suffered this spring.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (7-9) completed a series win over the Cubs with a 5-2 victory over Chicago yesterday. New York took three of four from the Cubs. LHP JOHAN SANTANA allowed just one run in 6.1 innings of work to improve to 2-1 on the year. Former Bisons’ INF IKE DAVIS scored twice and collected his first big league double in a three-hit game. The Mets host Atlanta tonight at 7:10 p.m.
