Minor Rags: Tejada, Niesen Beaned, Kyle Allen... and Wilmer Flores

Bisons:

The Buffalo Bisons' ninth inning rally came up short in a 5-3 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox in an International League game played before 6,158 at McCoy Stadium. Buffalo brought the tying run to plate with no outs in the ninth against former Bisons' reliever Fernando Cabrera. But after Ruben Tejada and Jason Pridie got aboard, Cabrera retired three straight to earn the save. The Bisons outhit the PawSox, 9-5, but they were just 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 baserunners - link

B-Mets:

Bizarre scene in the top half. With one out, Diaz walked and then stole second. But Nickeas misfired badly on the throw, and plunked Eric Niesen — who was already kneeling — in the back of the head. The ball ricocheted all the way to the fence outside the Fisher Cats’ dugout, allowing Diaz to advance to third. As for Niesen, he laid on the mound for a little while, but was able to get up after a few minutes. After getting checked out by the training staff, Niesen was about to throw a warm-up pitch. But before he did, they pulled the plug and took him out of the game. - link

Lucy:

The St. Lucie Mets scored two runs in the fourth inning, added three in the fifth and hung on for a 5-4 win over the Jupiter Hammeerheads on Friday at Roger Dean Stadium. Stefan Welch went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Raul Reyes had an RBI single for the Mets. The win went to Kyle Allen (2-0) who struck out five in five innings. - link
Gnats:

The Augusta GreenJackets scored five runs in the fifth inning en route to a 9-5 victory over the Savannah Sand Gnats on Friday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium. A crowd of 4,415 watched as Augusta (10-6) was led by Jose Casilla (1-0), who struck out three, walked one and allowed an unearned run and a hit in two innings of relief to earn the win. Savannah (10-6) was led by Wilmer Flores, who was 1-for-4, including a double and four runs batted in. Rafael Fernandez was 2-for-4. Alonzo Harris was 2-for-4 with an RBI.-
