TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons take on the Indianapolis Indians in the second game of a four-game series from Victory Field (7:15 p.m.). The Herd will look to even the series as Indy collected the 9-2 victory in the opener, last night. The Bisons are now 6-7 on the road this season, while Indy is 4-5 at Victory Field.

vs. INDY: This is the Bisons lone trip to Victory Field this season. Ironically, the Herd has a better record against the Indians in Indianapolis (27-22) than when hosting Indy at Coca-Cola Field (24-23). Buffalo has split their four-game series at Victory Field each of the past two seasons.

GOSH GOLLY GEE: RHP DILLON GEE is a perfect 3-0 in five starts. The 24-year old has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his five starts this year. That includes giving up just two runs in 6.2 innings of work in his last outing, May 2 against Louisville. Gee has been impressive against righties this season, allowing them to hit just .197 (12-61) with only three extra-base hits (all doubles).

C.C. STREAKIN: OF CHRIS CARTER enters tonight’s game with an impressive seven-game hit streak. Since April 28, the outfielder has averaged .448 (13-29) with three homers, eight RBI and six runs scored. Included in that stretch is his two-run walk-off home run in Sunday’s 6-4 win over Louisville in 10 innings. Carter .337 average on the season is 9th in the International League.
NO LONGER SERVING: INF/OF MIKE CERVENAK was placed on the disabled list yesterday with right plantar fasciitis. Cervenak missed the final two games of the Herd’s last homestand. On the year, he has hit .228 (18-79) with two home runs and six RBI in 21 games.

ROSTER MOVE: C SHAWN RIGGANS has joined the Herd from Double-A Binghamton. The 29-year old backstop played just two games (2-5, 2 2B) with the B-Mets before being placed on the DL with a right shoulder strain. The 2006 International League All-Star with Durham played 44 games with Tampa Bay in 2008. To make roster room, C OMIR SANTOS was sent to Binghamton yesterday. Santos hit .194 (7-36) with 2RBI in 10 games with the Bisons.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (15-13) had an off day yesterday as they prepare for a six-game homestand at Citi Field. Tonight, New York is up against the NL West’s top team, the San Francisco Giants. The last time the Mets were home they rattled off a 9-1 homestand that included sweeps of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. New York is 11-5 at Citi Field this season.
