Two of the better hitting teams in the International League were locked in a pitchers' duel Thursday until Indianapolis found the keys to jump start its offense. That was bad news for the Buffalo Bisons at Victory Field. The Indians turned a close game into a rout by scoring seven runs in the sixth inning en route to a 9-2 win before 4,785. Buffalo came into the game third in hitting in the IL (.278), while Indy was fourth (.273). The Herd failed to get untracked in the first of eight straight road games. The Indians finished with 15 hits, Buffalo eight. - link

B-Mets:

The Binghamton Mets' ninth-inning rally fell short Thursday afternoon in a 7-6 Eastern League loss to the Erie SeaWolves. Binghamton scored twice in the ninth, but Luis Marte struck out Zach Lutz with the tying run at second to secure the victory. The teams split their four-game series, leaving the B-Mets five wins on a seven-game road trip. Entering the ninth, Binghamton (16-11) faced a three-run hole. With Marte on in search of his fourth save, Mike Nickeas led off with a single, his third hit of the game. Kirk Nieuwenhuis joined him on base with one out, thanks to an error by second baseman Justin Henry on a would-be double-play ball.-

Lucy:

The St. Lucie Mets blew a 7-2 lead and lost to the Fort Myers Miracle 9-7 on Thursday in Fort Myers. The Miracle scored two runs in the seventh inning and five in the eighth to complete the comeback. Emmanuel Garcia went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Eric Campbell had four hits for the Mets. Jean Luc Blaquiere drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double. The loss went to Jose Bierd (1-2). - link

Gnats:

Savannah tied the game in the eighth when Flores led off with a double, advanced to third on Jefry Marte's single and scored on Dock Doyle's ground out. Flores and Jeff Flagg finished with two hits apiece. Savannah relievers pitched six innings without allowing an earned run. A costly error by Marte at third base led to an unearned run in the 11th and made Michael Powers the loser. The Gnats remain on the road and begin a four-game set against Lakewood (N.J.) tonight. Note: Gnats' first baseman Sam Honeck suffered a broken tibia and fibula after a collision at home plate Wednesday night in the 12th inning. He was placed on the disabled list Thursday. - link
