7-15 from: - link  - The USA Baseball 18U National Team slugged 13 hits to swing past the Chaska Cubs 8-3 Wednesday night at Chaska Athletic Park. Blake Swihart (Rio Rancho, N.M./Texas) notched two extra base hits and two RBIs. Swihart delivered a solo home run, after the U.S. lined into a double play, to give Team USA a 3-0 after two.

7-20 from: - http://web.usabaseball.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100719&content_id=12419754&vkey=recap_usab  - John Simms (Woodlands, Tex.), Daniel Camarena (Bonita, Calif.) and Lance McCullers (Tampa, Fla.) combined on a five-hit shutout to lead the USA Baseball 18U National Team over the St. Cloud All-Stars 3-0 Monday night at Faber Field. Blake Swihart (Rio Rancho, N.M.) paced Team USA offensively with three hits. Swihart registered three of Team USA's eight hits and added one RBI and two stolen bases. USA added another run in the sixth courtesy of a mammoth solo home run off the bat of Swihart. The Rio Rancho, N.M., product laced his third hit of the game to push the U.S. ahead 3-0.

7-24 from: - http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/high-school/?p=244  - Team USA went 5-0 against the Greater N.Y. Alliance All-Stars, a collection of New York-area high school seniors and college freshmen. After the New York swing, the team headed to Minnesota to play some summer teams as well as three friendlies against Canada. Team USA went 6-1 there with the one loss coming in a 4-3 decision against the Canadians. During the tour, Blake Swihart led the team in hitting with a .464/.467/.789 clip. Swihart is an athletic, switch-hitting catcher that can also play the infield, making him a versatile threat for Team USA.

Matt Barnes:

7-23-10 from: - link  - USA CNT Roster Breakdown, Spring Stat Links and Trials Notes: - Matt Barnes - RHSP So. Univ. of Connecticut - Trials Notes: Barnes backed-up his early-Cape performance with two solid outings over the Trials week. His arm action is a little on the long side -- getting the ball out early and hooks it behind him, showing it to first -- but he repeats his slot fairly well and generates plus velocity through excellent arm speed (that arm speed also helps him to keep a solid tempo and clean release. His fastball is a low-90s offering that he can get downhill out of his 3/4 slot and he commands it fairly well. Barnes shows a true curve with solid bite and depth and a slider with solid late action and some tilt. Both are potential average or better offerings, and his change-up could end-up the best of his secondaries, coming with some deception and good fade. The Huskies righty gets good extension and does an admirable job repeating his slot with each of his four offerings and is a potential 1st Round arm in next year's draft if he continues to progress through the Summer/Spring.

 Tyler Anderson:

7-23-10 from: - link  - USA CNT Roster Breakdown, Spring Stat Links and Trials Notes: - Tyler Anderson - LHSP - So. Univ. of Oregon - Trials Notes: Anderson was generally 88-90 with his fastball, touching 91/92, and working it most effectively to the outer half of the plate against lefties. He showed some trouble working inside to lefties, catching too much of the middle, and didn't spot particularly well against righties. His curve was 78-80 mph with average depth and flashed potential as a freeze offering, and his slider gave him another look coming with low-80s velo and some tilt. There is some deception in his high kick and arm action, though he can also get long to home due to each (1.76 - 1.82). He flashed a solid change at 77 mph, as well.

Michael Kelly:

7-13-10: - MaxPreps Junior All-American Baseball Team - Michael Kelly, West Boca Raton (Boca Raton, Fla.), All-Purpose - All-county by the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, Kelly went 10-4 with a 2.06 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched. He also batted .323 with 17 RBI and has committed to play at Florida.

Nicky Delmonico:

7-15 from: - link  - The USA Baseball 18U National Team slugged 13 hits to swing past the Chaska Cubs 8-3 Wednesday night at Chaska Athletic Park. C Nicky Delmonico (Knoxville, Tenn.) ripped a two-run home run. Delmonico propelled USA to an early two-run lead courtesy of a mammoth two-run home run. The Knoxville, Tenn., product sent the 2-0 Andy Daulwater offering well over the right field wall to give the U.S. an early lead.
