2011 DRAFT: - Desmond Henry, Blake Hickman, Ricky Jacquez, Hawtin Buchanan... and Cody Kukuk

Desmond Henry:

6-27 from: - link   - Day two at TOS - OF, Desmond Henry, 5'11 160, R/R, can run and stole a few bases at will. Bat speed is there and he covers ground in the OF, not a bad arm, 40 on the scale and will get better with more exposure and dedication to the game. Centenial HS, Compton CA. Loved his aggressiveness.

Blake Hickman:

6-27 from: - link  - Day two at TOS - C, Blake Hickman, 6'5 190, R/R, Simeon HS Chicago product, for 2012, long release, but pure arm strength, 60 arm, the rest needs work, with foot quickness and hitting approach is ok, still a work in progress, perhaps convert that arm on the hill?

 Ricky Jacquez:

Ran some quick fbs up there to 93, 94 on a jugs, most straight, clean delivery for most part, and not much downhill plane, breaking ball has right spin to develop further, plus IF arm and ok actions, bat is good enough to excel at 4 yr level. Will be closely watched ala, Tom Gordon former Royals first rounder in the mid 80's.

Hawtin Buchanan:

6-27 from: - link  - One of the taller pitchers around, RHP Hawtin Buchanan, slightly taller than 6'6 and 230, down hill plane fb, up to 92, some sink when down on the knees, lots of pitches up in the zone, Biloxi HS Miss is on the map for 2011 follow.

Cody Kukuk:

6-27 from: - link   - LHP Cody Kukuk, Free State HS, Kansas, 6'3 plus and around 190 or so, lefty with some pop down in zone and sink when down, up to 90, doesn't fight himself much and definite upside left, breaking ball spun, some sharpness at times, was a bit tentative but settled down after a few pitches under his belt. Didn't look good as a hitter, guessing many times, but in BP has some pop. Verbal to Kansas.
