Every couple years the Netherlands has a tournament that they call Honkball. The United States won the tournament in 2008 but sent a very competetive national team that included the fourth player selected in the draft, Christopher Colon, who made the myworld all tournament team as a second baseman. Ryan Jackson made it as the shortstop on the myworld all tournament team and he is now a prospect with the St. Louis Cardinals. Mike Minor won the MVP award because of his impressive two wins against Cuba. He was a number one pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2009. And yes, a kid named Stephen Strasburg pitched and had an impressive 18 K’s in his two appearances. Not too many were familair with him then. The whole nation knows of him now. The United States team will not be quite as impressive this year, composed mainly of junior college players.
