Princeton 3, Kingsport 2

The Princeton Rays were able to come from behind to beat the Kingsport Mets 3-2 in ten innings on Tuesday night, July 27, at Hunnicutt Field in Princeton.



The win for the P-Rays leaves both teams with identical 17-18 records.



The Mets only two runs in the game were solo home runs. The first was by Aderlin Rodriguez to lead off the fourth inning. The other was by Albert Cordero in the seventh. Both home runs were off P-Rays' starter Eliazar Suero who lasted seven innings. He surrender only four hits, walked three, and struck two.


With the P-Rays down 2-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Brian Harris led off the inning with a single to left. He would be pinch-run for by Hector Guevara who would later score the tying run on an RBI groundout by Scott Lawson. After getting two on in the top of the tenth with only one out, Mathew Gilson was able to work out of the jam and keep the game tied.


Guevara led off the bottom of the inning with a walk and stole second. Todd Glaesmann brought the heroics with a double to left, bringing in the game-winning run. The P-Rays bats were held in check for the majority of the night as Kingsport's starter Gonzalez German was able to go eight innings, giving up one earned run, and striking out five.



Gilson was able to pick up the win after coming on in relief of Suero and pitching three scoreless innings. Richard Pena took the loss for Kingsport. He pitched an inning and one-third before giving up the game-winning hit to Glaesmann.
