END OF SEASON

LAST GAME: The B-Mets snapped a three-game losing skid

with a 3-2 victory last night over Harrisburg at NYSEG Stadium.

Starter Robert Carson left after 3.1 innings after being

hit in the left arm with a Jesus Valdez line drive. Carson allowed

just a run on two hits. Binghamton broke on top in the

first with a two-run triple from Brahiam Maldonado, which

chased home of a pair of walks issued by Senators’ righty

Ryan Peacock. Eric Campell pushed the lead to two in the

fourth with a solo homer to left off Peacock. Harrisburg got as

close as a run courtesy of a Chris Marrero RBI single in the

sixth, but the B-Mets bullpen buckled down to seal the win.

Edgar Ramirez picked up the win with 2.2 innings of one-run

relief. Elvin Ramirez followed with a season-long 2.1 innings

scoreless and Roy Merritt nailed down his ninth save by getting

the final two outs. Josh Johnson led the way for Harrisburg

with a 2-3 showing.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Scott Shaw was promoted

from St. Lucie today to start tonight’s contest with the

Senators. He is 4-6 with a 7.97 ERA over 70 innings with the

B-Mets. As a starter, Shaw went 4-5 with an 8.45 ERA in 12

starts (54.1 IP) in his previous stint with Binghamton. He appeared

innings (149.2), wins (8) and strikeouts (118). The righty was

drafted by the Mets in the 13th round of the June 2008 draft

out of the University of Illinois.

RHP Ryan Tatusko is due for his sixth start with Senators. He

hurled seven, shutout innings in his last go-around, August 31

at New Hampshire, but did not factor in the decision. Tatusko

is 2-1 with a 1.82 ERA over 29.2 innings with the Senators. He

began the season in the Texas Rangers organization in Frisco

(AA) where he was 9-2 with a 2.97 ERA over 24 appearances

(13 GS) spanning 100 innings. Washington acquired Tatusko

and Tanner Roark in exchange for Cristian Guzman July 30,

2010. Tatusko was drafted by Texas in the 18th round of the

June 2007 draft out of Indiana State University.

COHOON FINISHES STRONG: B-Mets southpaw Mark Cohoon

started slow with Binghamton, going 1-3 with a 7.24 ERA over

his first seven starts (32.1 IP) after being promoted from Savannah

(Low-A). However, he finished strong with a 4-1 mark

and a 1.63 ERA over his final six starts (38.2 IP).
