B-Mets, Roberto’s Kids Team Up to Collect

Baseball Equipment

Roberto’s Kids and the Binghamton Mets will join forces in collecting baseball

equipment for underprivileged children throughout the world for the fourth

consecutive year. Fans attending Friday evening’s game are encouraged to drop

off baseball equipment in front of NYSEG Stadium. Any fan who brings new or

gently used baseball equipment for donation will receive a free ticket to Friday

night’s 5:35 PM doubleheader with the Harrisburg Senators.

“Roberto’s Kids impacts so many lives throughout the world,” B-Mets General

Manager Jim Weed said. “We look forward to contributing to Roberto’s Kids

mission and honoring the humanitarian legacy of Roberto Clemente.”

Roberto's Kids, an international non-profit organization named after Hall of Famer

Roberto Clemente, seeks to collect new and gently worn baseball equipment for

distribution to disadvantaged youth in Latin American countries, the US and

around the world. The organization has the endorsement of Minor League Baseball

as well as the blessing of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Clemente

family, who works closely with them.

"We're looking forward to spending the evening with the great people of the

Binghamton area and the B-Mets again this year,” Stephen Pindar, founder or

Roberto’s Kids said. “The B-Mets are long time supporters of Roberto's Kids and

we couldn't do what we do without organizations like theirs. Thanks very much to

Jim Weed, his great staff and the wonderful people of the Binghamton area.”

Gates open at 5:00 PM for the Friday doubleheader against the Double-A Nationals

with the first pitch of Game One at 5:35 PM. Friday’s game is highlighted by an

extended Happy Hour at the Hive, featuring 2-for-1 prices on select draft beers,

from 5:00 PM – 6:35 PM and the penultimate installment of the Toyota Fireworks

Series. For tickets and further information, call (607) 723-METS.
