2011 Draft: - Matt Jensen, Cole Green, Dan Vogelbach, Matt Brandy, and Jake Hager

Matt Jensen:

10-18-10 from: - http://www.thecollegebaseballblog.com/  - We continue the countdown today at number 88 with Matt Jensen of Cal Poly. He is from Clovis California where he attended Clovis East High School. He picked up four letters playing under head coach Jeff Prieto where he hit .458 with six doubles, five triples, eight home runs, 21 RBIs and 36 runs scored. Jensen was also solid on the mound as he went 5-3 with a 2.29 ERA while striking out 55 batters in 52 innings as he threw two complete games and a shutout. He picked up several honors including All-Tri-River Athletic Conference honors all four years and also earned All-Valley and All-Regional honors. He was also named a third-team All-American as a senior. The Seattle Mariners selected him in the 11th round in the 2008 MLB draft but Jensen decided to head to Cal Poly to play under Larry Lee.

Cole Green:

10-17-10 from: - http://www.texassports.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/101710aaa.html  - After falling behind 5-0 after four innings, the Texas Longhorns outscored the Vanderbilt Commodores 7-0 over the next eight innings to post a 7-5 win in a 12-inning exhibition at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Sunday afternoon. Texas starter Cole Green allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits and two strikeouts over three innings. Sam Stafford allowed three runs on four hits in the fourth inning, but rebounded for a 1-2-3 inning in the fifth, including two strikeouts.

Dan Vogelbach:

10-17-10 from: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=162  - We’ve rated Bishop Verot’s Dan Vogelbach among the nation’s very best hitters and #5 in our top first basemen rankings. The left-handed hitter showed his vintage swing in batting practice Friday night, generating above-average wood bat-speed and raw power with a short stroke. He didn’t get to square one up during the game, but he did draw notice for the changes in his body and in his body life. Vogelbach was measured at 5’11”, 288 lbs at the East Coast Pro Showcase last August and is at least 25 lbs lighter today. The difference is quite noticeable around his mid-section and Vogelbach was moving his feet okay as a first baseman. The raw power and bat-speed seemed no less during batting practice.

Matt Brandy:

10-18-10 from: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=165  - The Bullets played outstanding defense all game, lead by SS Matt Brandy (2011, Alonso). Brandy made every play at SS - including routine plays, slow rollers, and bang-bang plays. Every single one of his throws from shortstop was chest high over the bag for the first baseman, as he provided support for Chase Sparkman.

Jake Hager:

10-18-10 from: - http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=2984  - Two shortstops stood out on the final day of the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. The first is Jake Hager, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop from Sierra Vista High in Las Vegas. Hager hit a home run for Team Vegas in his first at-bat of the showcase and continued his hot hitting today, going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. "The whole tournament, I saw the ball well," Hager said. "My swing felt good the whole weekend and I was confident through the whole weekend and just ready to play." Hager has been on scouts' radar for a couple years now. He benefitted from playing on the same high school team as righthander Nick Kingham, who was selected by the Pirates in the fourth round this year.
