JP Ricciardi Joins Mets

New Mets GM Sandy Alderson is about to announce his first move, hiring former Blue Jays' GM JP Ricciardi as one of his assistants. A press conference to announce this move will begin in 6 minutes. We'll have more info later- original word of the hire came from ESPN New York's Adam Rubin. A great first move!

    This is such a great move.

    Let's compare two:

    Steve Phillips hired Omar Minaya as his assistant.

    Sandy Alderson hires J P Ricciardi as his assistant.

    These two are so out each other's league.

    What's amazing is that Ricciardi would've been a great hire in his own right as GM- we may end up with THREE valid GMs if/when they hire Paul Depo!!!!
