Cutnpaste: - Yhency Brazoban, Pedro Feliciano, Mackey Sasser, Steinbrenner, and Craig Anderson

Yhency Brazoban:

The Rangers have signed right-hander Yhency Brazoban to a minor league contract, according to the Associated Press. Brazoban made 116 appearances for the Dodgers between 2004 and 2008, and last year pitched in the Mexican League and for the Mets' Triple-A team. - mlbtraderumors

Pedro Feliciano:

With Cliff Lee spurning the Yankees, general manager Brian Cashman is hoping that Andy Pettitte will return to the rotation and plans to invest in the bullpen. Cashman is preaching patience in regards to making a big splash in response to Lee not coming to the Bronx. Feliciano makes sense, because the Yankees want a second lefty in their 'pen to go along with Boone Logan, who emerged as a specialist last year. Damaso Marte's shoulder surgery is likely going to force him to miss most, if not all, of the year.- espn.

Mackey Sasser:
Mackey Sasser just got stuck with it because ... I don't know, actually. Maybe because when it happened to Courtney, nobody was coming up with such clever tags? Maybe because when it happened to Sasser, "Steve Blass Disease" had been a part of the vernacular for so long that it was easy to make the adaption? Right around the same time, of course, Steve Sax had trouble throwing the ball to first base ... and when the same thing happened to Chuck Knoblauch a few years later, he was said to have come down with a nasty case of "Steve Sax Disease." - http://twitter.com/

Steinbrenner:

Veteran sportswriter Bill Madden, who was honored with the Baseball Hall of Fame's J.G. Taylor Spink Award earlier this year, was there for most of the era, having started with the New York Daily News in 1978. Despite a falling out after Steinbrenner fed him a lie during his attempt to justify the 1988 firing of manager Lou Piniella, Madden generally enjoyed a comfortable working relationship with the Boss. Their history, along with the writer's access to countless current and former club employees, enabled Madden to paint an insider's portrait of life in the chaotic front office under the mercurial Yankee owner in "Steinbrenner: The Last Lion of Baseball." The book was released in May, just two months prior to Steinbrenner's death. - baseballamerica.

Craig Anderson:

A rarity for that era, Anderson was a very young pitcher being groomed as a reliever from the get-go. He had just two professional seasons under his belt, and though he didn’t blow anyone away with velocity, Anderson’s results had been superb, posting ERAs of 1.68 in double-A in 1960, 2.06 in a half-season of Triple-A in 1961, and 3.26 in a major league half-season in ’61. - hardballtimes
