Jason Simone: - http://www.collegesummerbaseball.net/2010/12/top-performers-from-2010-jason-simone.html  - My next top performer from the 2010 summer season is Jason Simone of the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs. Jason is currently a Senior outfielder from SUNY-Cortland. He hails from Utica, NY and he attended Thomas R. Proctor High School. He had a great 2010 season, that saw the Red Dragons fall just short of the NCAA Division III Title. He finished the season by hitting .437 with 2 home runs and 56 rbi's.

The University of Louisville established its baseball program in 1909 and had trotted 17 coaches out to the third base coaches’ box from that start-up year through the spring of 2006. The teams the program fielded in those first 98 years were fairly unremarkable. They won 1,315 games and lost 1,246. They won only two conference championships. Only one made an NCAA tournament appearance. John Hinson: - http://www.collegebaseballdaily.com/  - We continue the countdown today at number 50 with redshirt junior infielder John Hinson. The Asheville, North Carolina native had a standout career at A.C. Reynolds High School as he was a four-time letter winner under head coach Bryan Craig. He was named an all-conference selection in each of his four seasons while setting the school record for hits in a career. For the 2007 MLB Draft, Hinson was rated as the #170th best prospect in the nation by Baseball America and 314th prospect by Perfect Game while being the 13th best prospect in North Carolina by Perfect Game. The Philadelphia Phillies selected him in the 40th round (1210 overall pick) but were not able to get Hinson to sign.

A young kid who has alot of growing left to do and will improve on every tools he has in the coming years. Ultra toolsy and projectable build and room to improve makes him steal. You need to show patience in this process and understand that building a recruiting class takes a lot of time for a college program. You need to be respectfully aggressive with your marketing approach, but don’t put unrealistic time frames on the process that only create more stress and frustration. Remember that every family is on their own path. What is good for one player as far as college is concerned may not be good for another. Stay focused on what is the best course of action for your son, and don’t worry about what is going on around you. “Keeping your blinders on” will help you gain perspective, stay on track for the race, and not be distracted by what is going on around you

RHP Daniel Robinson — Sterling, Ill. - http://blugrassbaseball.com/  - •2010 Stats: 3-4, 2.71 ERA, 1 Sv, 41.1 IP - •Ben Diggle: “I have no doubt Dan’s best years on the mound are in front of him. He is just beginning the transition from two-way player at the high school level to a true pitcher. I have no doubt that Dan will continue to work hard and that, combined with the coaching he will receive at MSU, will help him develop into a very good college pitcher.”


Zach Cone OF, Georgia - http://www.draftsite.com/article/2011-MLB-Draft-Preview-College-Hitters/43  - Cone was one of the most athletic kids in the 2008 draft, where he was selected in the supplemental third round by the Angels. His career at Georgia has done nothing to dispel those thoughts, and he has shown why he is so highly thought of. In the mold of Grady Sizemore, Cone has a very athletic and lean build at 6’2" and 205 lbs; he has the ability to play all three outfield spots, with excellent defense, committing only one error to go with an SEC leading 7 assists this past season. He does everything smoothly and that includes hitting, which he does with a balanced swing that should allow him to hit for average and power. Along with his above average hit and power tools, his best tool may be his speed, where it was reported that he can get down the line in 4.1 seconds from the right side. Having a father who played in the NFL, Cone no doubt has the athleticism to play at the professional level and become an impact player.


Extreme baseball - Arizona High School baseball Showcase/Tournament - http://www.tossitaround.com/index.php?option=com_community&view=events&task=viewevent&eventid=4&Itemid=157  - Location:Camelback Ranch - Glendale, Arizona Time: FROM: Saturday, January 15, 2011, 8:00 am UNTIL: Monday, January 17, 2011, 11:00 pm - Extreme baseball will be holding their First Annual High School baseball Showcase January 15 - 17, 2011 at the Camelback Ranch baseball facility (Spring Training Home of the Los Angels Dodgers and the Chicago Whitesox. All Major League teams, and over 50 colleges will be invited to this Showcase. Extreme baseball will feature the nation's top High School players! The players will be divided into ten teams of 15 players, playing in a 3 day Round Robin formatted tournament (2 brackets of 5 teams, with the top 4 teams playing in a championship and consolation game). In addition to playing in tournament games, each day players will run the 60 yard dash and take a full Infield/Outfield practice. Catchers will also throw to bases for “pop-times”. All games will be 7 innings and will be played with wood bats.
