George Springer, Connecticut - Springer is a huge reason the Huskies are expected to be the first northern school to take a significant step forward in a few seasons. The talented outfielder has had a solid career, but he joined the nation’s elite players with a solid sophomore campaign last season. Springer, a top draft prospect, batted .337 with 16 doubles, four triples, 18 homers and 62 RBIs. He also slugged .658 and had a .491 on-base percentage. Can Springer and others lead the Huskies to the College World Series? http://www.tossitaround.com/baseball-news/college/14402.html
Jackie Bradley Jr. calls Prince George, Va., his home, but when his playing days at South Carolina and in the professional ranks are over, he could easily see owning his own sporting goods store in the heart of Gamecock country, Columbia, S.C. You see, Bradley, one of the nation’s top outfielders and an elite draft prospect, didn’t grow up an avid Gamecocks fan like most in the Palmetto State. As a native Virginian, you’d be inclined to think he grew up rooting for Virginia or Virginia Tech. Instead, he rooted for no one, watching all baseball programs as if they were all a potential destination. - http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/baseball/news?slug=kr-scbradley011311
When the Detroit Tigers offered fourth-round pick and Texas pitcher Cole Green a signing bonus in the range of $300,000 last summer, the right-handed pitcher had a tough decision to make. He could take the money or return to the Lone Star State for his senior season. As the summer progressed, it was obvious there was only was one thing on Green’s mind: helping the Longhorns win their seventh national title. After all, he was a starting pitcher two years ago when the Longhorns lost the national title series to LSU, and was a key cog last season when the ‘Horns were heartbroken following a home super regional series loss to TCU. - http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/baseball/news;_ylt=Aiv89xfPM7nP4qSgTi2snAsMwLYF?slug=kr-utgreen011111
Anthony Rendon – Rice - Rendon may have broken his ankle last summer, but he remains the favorite to go first overall in next year’s draft. He is not only a natural hitter, but also a natural fielder at the hot corner, and could likely slide over to shortstop in a pinch if he needed to and hold his own. He plays the game with great enthusiasm and is arguably the favorite to win the Golden Spikes award next season after hitting .391 with 46 home runs and 157 runs batted in during his first two years at Rice. - http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=5155
