Alonso senior pitcher Jose Fernandez, a Cuban defector who was ruled ineligible because he had exhausted his four years of high school eligibility, has been officially reinstated by the Florida High School Athletic Association, Alonso baseball coach Landy Faedo confirmed Monday. Jungmann’s junior campaign was especially impressive, where he went 8-3 with a 2.03 ERA in 120 innings. He also struck out 129 and walked 41 and limited teams to a .209 average.
