75. Michael Fulmer:
7-25-11: - http://www.metstoday.com/6761/mets-news/mets-sign-michael-fulmer - Remember when the Mets allowed Pedro Feliciano to move crosstown to the Bronx as a free agent? Well, in return for losing the LOOGY, the Mets received a supplemental pick after the first round of the draft this past June, and they used it to draft high school pitcher Michael Fulmer. According to Baseball America, Fulmer has signed with the Mets for a little under a million dollars — $937,500 to be exact. Fulmer is 6’2″, 200 pounds, righthanded, and reportedly throws in the mid-90s.
Lets hope this is the first of many great posts about Fulmer. Hopefully that power arm, plus curve, and hatred of hitters gets him to Citi right when Johan exits. I know thats wishful thinking, but this kid supposedly has an Uncle Charley worth raving about and 96 mph at age 18! So here's to moving up Macks keepers list and steadily climbing the levels and perils of minor league baseball.
