Matt Harvey:
7-7-11: - We’ve seen this happen before. Your slam dunk A+ pitcher hit the wall in AA. Harvey gave up seven runs in three pitched last night and his AA ERA is now 9.24. The strikeouts were still there (5 in 3.0), but this was his second bad AA outing out of three. I’m far from worried, and hopefully, this is all a learning process, but just how many of these guys were we so excited about until they hit the wall in Binghamton? Oh... one more thing... it would help also if your shortstop would charge a slow roller on the first play of the game instead of allowing the first batter to start the rally.
Greg Peavey:
7-7-11: - The bump from Savannah to St. Lucie doesn’t seem to be negatively affecting Greg Peavey. He pitched Wednesday night, going: 7.0-IP, 1-ER, 4-K, 2-BB. His A+ ERA is now 1.59.
We've mentioned before the advantages of being the 2nd top pitching prospect in a particular draft. All the hype goes in the direction of Matt Harvey which allows guys like Peavey to just pitch.
Adam O’Neill:
7-6-11: - O’Neill did go under the knife yesterday. Partially torn MCL… getting the ligament taken out of right wrist and then put in place for the old damaged ligament… he joins Trey Rackel, Steve Matz, and Lachlan Hodge in the Mets TJS suite.
Erik Goeddel:
7-6-11: - Talked with Erik… he’s in St. Lucie still rehabbing. The plan is for him to throw his first bullpen session this week, and, if all things go well, we should see him back before the end of the season.
Zach Dotson:
7-6-11: - Zach checked in to let me know that the current plan is for him to be playing in August.
