Mets Analysis – AAA SPs

Since we are working with so many players, we’re going to break out pitching a little different. We’ll first look at the starters and try and determine who should still be around, and where, in 2012. Here’s Buffalo:

Chris Schwinden – AAA – 26-ST – 8-8, 3.95, 1.28, 134-K, 145.2-IP, .308-BABIP, 3.79-FIP

Pat Misch – AAA – 22-ST – 8-9, 4.00, 1.29, 94-K, 141.2-IP, 2.86-BABIP, 5.58-FIP

Dylan Owen – AAA – 25-G, 20-ST – 6-7, 4.26, 1.32, 91-K, 116.1-IP, 2.75-BABIP, 5.09-FIP

Mark Cohoon – AAA – 18-ST – 4-11, 6.11, 1.67, 51-K, 94.1-IP, 3.49-BABIP, 5.20-FIP

Brain Sweeney – AAA – 32-G, 8-ST – 5-5, 4.34, 1.34, 67-K, 85.0-IP, 3.16-BABIP, 4.26-FIP

Josh Stinson – AAA – 13-ST – 3-7, 7.44, 1.78, 32-K, 61.2-IP, 2.80-BABIP, 2.99-FIP

Jenrry Mejia – AAA – 5-ST – 1-2, 2.86, 1.06, 21-K, 28.1-IP, .192-BABIP, 3.91-FIP

Miquel Batista – AAA – 10-G, 8-ST – 3-0, 4.24, 1.52, 36-K, 46.2-IP, .309-BABIP, 4.54-FIP

Okay…

Obviously, Jenrry Mejia will be welcomed back to the Buffalo rotation; however, going to have to wait until he rehabs. There has been very little written about him since the operation so we’ll guess that he will return around June.

Chris Schwnden, Miguel Batista, and Josh Stinson all made it to Queens, for different reasons. I have Schwinder as the 6th starter next season, which means he will return to Buffalo where he will keep checking his Blackberry for a message from Queens. Stinson, might stick as a reliever, while Batista will probably look elsewhere for a return to the majors.

Mark Cohoon deserves another shot after being promoted too fast. He’d be the first one to tell you he had a shit season and I’m sure he can do better.

2012 will bring a few of the guys up from Binghamton, the first of which will probably be Jeurys Famila. Collin McHugh should also start in Buffalo come April, while Matt Harvey should arrive in June.

I only see Mejia being a potential Queens starter someday, even though I think his future is now as the Mets closer someday. Schwinden does have bullpen potential, but I don’t see anyone else having a successful career in Flushing.

My rotation guess right now:

April: Schwinden, Familia, McHugh, Cohoon, Someone

June: Familia, Mejia, Harvey, Schwinden, McHugh

That statement does not include Harvey & Familia, does it?

  3. Brandon Moore~think he'll eventually join those in Buffalo? Binghamton? Nowhere? This whole thing still blows my mind.
Also, will Jimmy Fuller be back next season?

  4. Fuller should be fine. I'll get in touch with him and find out.

The Moore situtation is different. In the past, most Mets that get busted ONCE eventually get released before ever putting the uniform on again. The last. Zach Dotson, did pitch a few innings finally in August.

Twice is just stupid and a complete lack of repsect for your fellow teammates.

I expect him to be released.
