11-15-11: - http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=6369 - Andrew Schorr (2012 LHP, Tri State Arsenal/NJ Super 17)- Schorr made a solid impression in his first travel ball event of his career. After missing his sophomore season of high school ball with a fractured left tibia suffered from running into the outfield fence during preseason workouts. Schorr bounced back to lead Audobon High School to a championship this spring. The 6-foot-2 southpaw was extremely effective in Jupiter, throwing seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while mowing down 15 hitters in the two games he pitched. Schorr threw 64.5% of his pitches for strikes and generated a tournament best 44.5% whiff rate. Schorr's fastball touched 90 mph, while generally sitting 86-88, with sinking action. He also flashed a solid curveball that, while inconsistent, showed good depth and quick spin while sitting between 70-75 mph. While his stuff is not overpowering, it is good, and two talented lineups (Dulin Dodgers, Georgia PG Texas Orange) failed to make much contact at all against him (six balls in play, three ground outs, three air outs).

Trey Williams, 3B, Valencia (Valencia, Calif.) Williams is a right-handed hitting prep shortstop who profiles defensively at third base. He's sturdy and strong with a plus arm and good athleticism. His setup needs work but with terrific hands and wrists generates well above-average bat speed that should result in plus power. Williams, a Pepperdine commit, is the son of former big league infielder Eddie Williams, who spent parts of 10 seasons in the majors after being the No. 4 overall selection in the 1983 Draft.

Miller has excellent raw power and bat speed. He has a simple easy swing with lift. The swing is a bit long. He shows power to all fields. Miller’s recorded 60 time is 7.22. Miller has the tools needed to play third, but some project him as a future outfielder. He has good arm strength.
11-28-11 - http://ht.ly/1fSjC3 - We continue the countdown today at number 56 with Bradley senior LHP Joe Bircher. The Omaha, Nebraska native attended Roncalli Catholic High School where he played four years of baseball under Tom Kupfer. As a junior and senior, Bircher was named second-team all-state. His freshman season saw him appear in 14 games with six starts going 4-2 with a 3.39 ERA. He struck out 50 batters while walking 17. Bircher struggled as a sophomore going 4-5 with a 5.67 ERA in 81 innings pitched while starting 14 games. He struck out 68 batters while walking 24 batters.
11-29-11: - http://ht.ly/1fTuuF - We continue the countdown today at number 55 with Rutgers junior infielder Steve Nyisztor. The Toms River, New Jersey native attended Toms River North High School. As a senior, he set school single-season records in batting average (.511), doubles (14), slugging percentage (.904) and tied the school single-season record in triples (7) in 2009. He had 48 hits, 29 RBI and 33 runs scored also in his senior season. He helped lead the team to back to back South Jersey Group IV state titles in 2008 and 2009.
