Mets Inquired About A.J. Burnett

Although its early in the offseason a source indicated to me the Mets sent out “feelers” to the Yankees about their interest in a Jason Bay/A.J. Burnett swap. Talks never were engaged as this is not something the Yankees would be interested in doing.

    I think that with the extra time on Bay's contract, the Yankees would need EXTRA incentive for making a deal like that. HOWEVER... Pelfrey + Bay for Burnett...

    He is Pelfrey,, just with better stuff. They win and lose basically the same amount. They are both frustrating players to have on a team. However, getting, rid of Bay must be very enticinh for the Mets and I bet they'd take on anyone to do it.
