Mack’s 25-man: UT Jordany Valdespin

We're still this team with the players in the system and, currently, there is no Jose Reyes on the team. This means Ruben Tejada will move to short and a bunch of guys will be able to play second base.
The problem will all this is there is no one currently on the 25-man that can spot Tejada at short.

"Spin" had a banner season in 2011 and, more important, he matured as a human being and threw the attitude into the trash can. I was told that Carlos Beltran was a big part of this and spent considerable time talking to Jordany about how players blow future big paydays this way (cue Lasto).

The Mets have been trying to convert him to a second baseman, but it didn't work. His error/per game at second ratio was tops in the minor leagues.

No, Valdespin is a shortstop and the Mets are going to have to leave the Buffalo second base job to Reese Havens.

Some in the system believe Valdespin has a higher ceiling than Tejada, especially after he produced so much pop last year.

He's old enough, he's ready, and it's time.

That’s 22… 3 to go
