Research:
Needs: none
Thoughts:
- We should have these problems.
- An excess of catchers and starters, especially due to the fact that three starters are ready to graduate and there is no place to put them.
- Possible future need for an outfielder and second baseman.
Summary Suggestion: The most important thing to realize is the fact that the Yankees are not a team that wants to help the Mets. Yes, there have been trades in the past, but not too many that involve top players. It’s obvious they have too many catchers (and I didn’t even mention Russell Martin). Still, what do the Mets have that the Yankees want? Another Pedro Feliciano? This could be a good place for RP Bobby Parnell, possibly for Romine or Sanchez.
I don't think that Banuelos and Betances are ready to START in 2012. I think they could get promoted and pitch a few games but I'd say they need another year of stamina building.
ReplyDeleteSeeing what the Yankee's have really make you remember exactly how special a pitcher needs to be in order to achieve a stardom that matches their hype. Joba, Phil Hugues, and Ian Kennedy were supposed to anchor their rotation for the next ten years remember. The.only sure thing right now out of the three is pitching in Arizona. Really makes me stop and think about not only the Spankees next few can't miss studs, but also The Mets'. Alot of things must fall correctly into place in order for these guys to be successful. Knowing that, its surprising that Cashman is so reluctant to deal his chips. I understand the Mets' reasoning, they have little resources and need to.build from within, but the Yanks can afford nearly anything. You'd think Cashman would use his prospects a little differently, especially with that win it all or die mentality that they have.
