I'm not going to comment on this. I can't even imagine a future rotation of Gonzalez, Harvey, Wheeler, Familia and Niese... wait a minute... I just commented on it... DOH!

    In order to get Gonzales, they'd probably have to give up someone from that future rotation. it's been said the price is steep. Wouldn't Wheeler, Harvey, or Familia probably need to be part of the package?

    Absolutely. There's no way this deal gets done without one of Niese, Harvey, Wheeler AND a Flores type of lower prospect. All this means in most likelihood is that Alderson made a call inquiring about the price tag and that's it. 100/1 odds he ends up on the Mets.

    I think what I read on other blogs makes the most sense. The Mets were named because of potential for a three team deal involving them.

    I think Sandy would also like to gauge Gonzalez's value so he can properly price Jon Niese on the trade market.
