It's over. The inevitable has happened. While I think the Mets will be able to overcome this and that the Marlins overspent here, the way it went down is what stinks. Honestly, FU Wilpons...you won't see another dime from me.
ReplyDelete$18.5 for 6 years is too much for Reyes, but it is that awful scenario where we get AWFUL picks (compensation and a 2nd rounder) AND a division rival gets better. I'm going to hit Photoshop hard and come up with a pretty scathing Wilpon post for later this week.
ReplyDeleteDo we still get a 2nd rounder? Does the H.Bell signing bump us down the the Marline' 3rd pick?
ReplyDeleteMets and Padres both get a compensation pick (between 1st and 2nd Rounds) and then I THINK the Mets get the Marlin 2nd pick
ReplyDeleteMets get:
ReplyDeleteSup 1 pick... guess: # 35
additional round 3 pick... guess: # 75-85
It's not equal to losing the 2011 batting champ. Typical Mets BS.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, the Marlins have just added Jose Reyes to the 15-day DL with a pulled hamstring.
Give 'em hell Phlavio.

ReplyDeleteI am sad to see him go, but that contract, long term for the Mets was not a good idea and will be for the best...although I am upset he is gone
