Milwaukee Brewers Top-15 Prospects of 2012

    1. Wily Peralta | RHP | Age – 22 | Grade – B … See his pitch-by-pitch breakdown by clicking here
    2. Taylor Jungmann | RHP | Age – 22 | Grade – B … First round pick is a potential No. 2 starter.
    3. Tyler Thornburg | RHP | Age – 22 | Grade – B/B- … Projected as a reliever out of college, but he’s shown himself to be a starter thus far.
    4. Jed Bradley | LHP | Age – 21 | Grade – B- … Milwaukee’s second first round pick, Bradley is a college starter who actually still has quite a bit of development ahead of him.
    5. Jorge Lopez | RHP | Age – 19 | Grade – B- … Extremely projectable righty with solid pitches already in his arsenal.
    6. Logan Schafer | CF | Age – 25 | Grade – C+ … Injuries have hurt his development the past couple of years, but he still put together a strong season in the at bats he did get last year.
    7. Scooter Gennett | 2b | Age – 22 | Grade – C+ … Numbers are a little deceiving because of a slow start last year. Learning to draw more walks would do a lot to improve his value.
    8. Cody Scarpetta | RHP | Age – 23 | Grade – C+ … He really wasn’t all that good last year. Strikeouts were down and walks remain a problem. I see a future in the bullpen.
    9. Taylor Green | INF | Age – 25 | Grade – C+ … Monster offensive season came out of nowhere last year. Still doesn’t change the fact that he’s likely offensive utility player who can play a bit of everywhere.
    10. Michael Fiers | RHP | Age – 26 | Grade – C+ … Continues to put up impressive numbers without dominant stuff. He’s Major League ready.
    11. David Goforth | RHP | Age – 23 | Grade – C+ … Has one of the best arms in the organization, but he’s never had the results to match. If he can honeh his command, and find a secondary pitch to complement his fastball, he could move quickly.
    12. Orlando Arcia | SS | Age – 17 | Grade – C+ … Very, very young, but in a system where the offensive talent is thin and frankly old (from a prospect standard), his upside and youth stand out.
    13. Caleb Gindl | OF | Age – 23 | Grade – C+ … He’s the same prospect he’s always been: nice bat, but good enough for a corner spot? Probably not. He makes a nice fourth outfielder though, and his improved contact rate is a good sign.
    14. Michael Reed | RF | Age – 19 | Grade – C … Like Arcia, he’s here because of his youth, and overall upside even though he’s a long shot to reach it.
    15. Khris Davis | OF | Age – 24 | Grade – C … Pounded High-A pitching but struggled mightily in Double-A. He’s old for his level.
