Milwaukee Brewers reliever Francisco Rodriguez, believing his former agents deceived him, might file a grievance or lawsuit against them this week, his attorney told USA TODAY. Attorney Richard Johnson said Rodriguez was pondering a malpractice or fraud suit after a 10-hour mediation hearing last week with his former agents, Paul Kinzer and Arn Tellem of the Wasserman Media Group, did not produce a settlement. A fifth-round selection in 2011, Leathersich struck out 26 of the 47 batters he faced in the NYPL. That’s 55.3%, folks. Short-season relievers generally aren’t a good bet, but this small lefty has a classic low-90′s fastball/power slider combination that should make him a quick riser to a setup role in an NL bullpen. Grade: C+

4th Round (124th overall): John Holdzkom, RHP – Salt Lake CC - This was the first head-scratcher of the draft. Holdzkom was looked at as a big guy with big time stuff, but he had no command and was considered a head case—he was academically ineligible in high school and dropped out of community college because he got into an argument with his coach. It was an overdraft to say the least. As expected, Holdzkom showed the big stuff, but hadn’t a clue how to throw a strike. Eventually his poor mechanics and need to throw the ball through a break wall caught up to him and he needed Tommy John surgery in 2009. With Johan Santana recovering from shoulder surgery at this time last year, Terry Collins named Mike Pelfrey his No. 1 starter weeks before he had to -- and regretted the decision as Pelfrey took a big step backward with a 7-13 record and 4.74 ERA. Pelfrey was the ninth overall pick in the 2005 draft, but to this point, has failed to live up to that potential.
