I told you that Santana was never coming back…

Go find the video on the Josh Thole home run… that’s a ‘by the book’ swing… kind of like that 330-yard drive you hit that felt like you barely swung… it’s all mechanics, weight distribution, and follow through…

John Holdzkom pitched to 4 batters in the 6th inning and got no one out for High A Bakersfield

"If I had played my career hitting singles like Pete (Rose), I'd wear a dress."_____Mickey Mantle

Don’ forget to turn to 98.7FM for ESPN Sports… err… if you’re in ‘da city’… if you live where I live, it’s Barry Manilow

One thing about starters… it’s never the score/ERA/WHIP… it’s K/IP, K/BB, and command in  the 100-126 pitch area… everything a starter does in the minors is practice… your first ‘hole’ is in Queens… until then, nothing counts… and no one gets promoted unless they can command above the 100 pitch count… until then, you’re on the practice tee.

AAA-Buffalo:
Agua... DH to be scheduled...

On the cut line:  – 2B – Michael Fisher… RP – Brad Holt

Future Rotation Update…  Matt Harvey (now pitching Wednesday) and Jeurys Familia trudge along in AAA looking for location.  Harvey’s 1.50 and Familia’s 1.98 WHIP won’t hack it yet, though Matt’s last outing was outstanding. Still Harvey’s 26/24/11, and Familia’s 21.2/26/22 needs vast improvement before even considering them for Queens.

3B Zach Lutz was returned to Buffalo once OF Andres Torres came off the DL list…
AA-Binghamton:

This was a pitching duel between Darin Gorski and Stephen Wright, with the difference being two errors by Jefry Marte.

On the cut line:  -  1B – Travis Ozga  C – Jean Luc Blacquiere… RP – Kevin Mulvey        RP – Erik Turgeon    RP – Edgar Ramirez

A+ - St. Lucie: -

I hate when the Mets do this rehab first inning stuff. D.J. Carrasco does have a scoreless first, but then Chase Huchington takes over, really doesn’t start which screws up a starter’s head, and, sure enough, gives up a run in the second… it stayed shaky for Chase, who gave up three walks in his first two innings… the hero was C Blake Forsythe (.167) with a 7th inning homer… Adam Kolarek throws two more (0.00) scoreless innings.

On the cut line:  -  1B – Richard Lucas          C – Francisco Pena

A – Savannah:

2B T.J. Rivera was named the SAL Player of the Week…
On the cut line:  -  -            1B – Brian Harrison…        C – Albert Cordero    OF – Tillman Pugh

I guess CF Travis Taijeron wants a window seat on the bus back to Savannah today… two home runs in his first two at bats, raising his season total to an impressive six… C Cam Maron and 1B Brian Harrison both hit their first homer of the season… SP Rafael Montero had troubles with doubles… then once thought to be a Mets draft pick, C Mike Kvasnicka hit a three-run bomb… no sweat… the Gants just kept hitting (T.J. Rivera) home runs… ‘negative’ outing for ‘Leather’… only 1-K in 2-IP…  you would think that nine runs is enough for a team known for its pitching…
