Daily Minors Report - 4-17-12

Date: 4-17-12

AAA-Buffalo:  OF Vinnie Rottino started another rally in their 2-run fifth… Rottino’s FC was followed by C Lucas May’s triple… 83-year old 2B Bobby Scales hit his 2nd homer in the 6th, raising his league leading BA to .429…  Chris Schwinden had an outstanding outing: 7.0-IP, 1-ER, 4-H,1-K, 1-BB, 2.25…  I talked to Chris after the game:

"Well had great defense tonight. Lucas May caught and called an outstanding game. We mixed the pitches up well. Left the ball up a couple of times but made good pitches in the right situation. Today's plan was mainly getting strikes early in the count."

Jack Egbert continues his 0.00 run with another scoreless inning…  Zach Lutz up to .364…  Scales: .444… quick game.

AA-Binghamton:

Ex-Met P Eric Niesen has signed with the Long Island Ducks (shaking head….)Rylan Sandoval played his first 2012 game as a DH… Pat Misch started for Lehigh Valley… The B-Mets wasted very little time getting on board in the first inning… Sean Kazmar walked, Oswaldo Navarro singled, and the red-hot Matt den Dekker singled in Kazmar. RF Juan Lagares (.222) broke it open in the third, with his two-run double.  Colin McHugh had a ‘good’ outing: 5.0-IP, 1-ER, 4-H, 6-K, 2-BB, 2.16… err… how do I put this… Kevin Mulvey  (8.10) having trouble back in AA-ball… sad… he was a great prospect.

A+ - St. Lucie:

A couple of interesting prospects on the Charlotte Stone Crabs: SS Derek Dietrich (.308) and CF Mikie Mahtook (.243… after starting the season 0-13 in the first three games, 3B Wilmer Flores (.286) has nine hits in the last seven games (strangely, three of the four infield prospects currently have are all playing third base)… Adam Kolarek (0.00) had another scoreless inning…  OF Cesar Puello’s bat (.240) may be waking up... ya know, no one considers Gonzalez Germen any degree of a prospect, yet he just continued to pitch well… 5.1-IP, 2-H, 1-R, 5-K, 1.65.

A – Savannah:

Atlanta’s pitching prospect Navery Moore (3.86) started for Rome…  let’s see early on…Aderlin has a walk, a hit, a run scored, an RBI, and no errors… )…  games was suspended because the lights went out… assume it will be finished tomorrow… Brian Harrison (2-2, .209) may have got the memo.
