Daily Minors Report

Date: 4-16-12

AAA-Buffalo:

2B Bobby Scales went into this game leading the league in BA (.448), and OBP (.556)… it continues to be difficult the begin the season as a Buffalo pitching prospect. Jeurys Familia did his imitation of Matt Harvey in April (4.0-IP, 6-ER, 6-BB). Actually, both of them have always sucked in April, or when they started a new level…  3B Zach Lutz continues to stay healthy and hit. The problem with Lutz is he only offers the Mets one defensive position which just happens to be the same position David Wright plays… this simply was Lehigh Valley’s night… Scott Podsednik, Domonic Brown, Austin Hyatt… could have had all three of these last month for Wright… 16 Bisons got in this game.
AA-Binghamton:

SP Greg Peavey was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week… SP Mark Cohoon had a ‘nice’ outing: 6.0-IP, 2-ER, 7-H, 1-K, 2-BB… lowered his seasonal ERA to a modest 3.27… Elvin Ramirez continues his 0.00 ERA with two scoreless innings (4-K)…  CF Matt den Dekker went 2-3 and raised his BA above three (.308) for the first time this season.

A+ - St. Lucie:

3B Wilmer Flores came into this game batting .207… raised it to .250… SP Cory Mazonni threw another gem (5.0-IP, 3-H, 0-R, 4-K, 1.13)… 4-hit shutout for Mazzoni-Hamilton Bennett (3.60)-Jeff Kaplan (2.25)… C Blake Forsythe’s seasonal BA: .118.

A – Savannah:

The Gnats went into this game leading the league with the lowest team ERA (1.96) and WHIP (0.97)…  SP Michael Fulmer had another quality start (4.1-IP, 6-H, 2-ER, 4-K, 0-BB… seasonal ERA now 4.00… 876-yr old 2B T.J. Rivera continues to rake, getting three more hits ad now batting .429.
